Allusion Poetry: Into the Woods (Final)

Skipping briskly through the forest
Little Red had no clue of her surroundings
And seeing everything in white
Oh, everything’s so bright!
She says, but little did she know…..

Walk straight
Follow the path
Stay alert
And don’t bother looking back
Momma said. Without questions, she obeyed
But momma never mentioned anything about trust
She was young
Making her a innocuous ignorant
Not seeing the evil in the world

There are millions of wolves on this planet
and it’s hard to be aloof toward them because
no matter where you travel too
there will always be a resident wolf
Red is a foreigner entering the big open forest
Because of her purity, she illuminated the
darkness in those woods

Those wolves are vultures and carries tainted hearts
They were not like Red, they were experienced and
Knew exactly how the world works
They preyed on Red because she was the perfect target
A honorable soul that has yet to encounter the wicked
And that’s exactly what the wolves have done, they crushed
Every happiness and joy to come out of her until she was
Six foot underground… Helpless. Sad. Lost.

Red has concluded that she was stuck in the
forest with no one but herself
She couldn’t trust, function, and not a single optimism
can run through her head
The wolf blew her innocence down
It sucked out all the liveliness in her body
And left her in the abyss

After spending years in the deep dark forest
Red found the key to escaping….
She would make the dark forest her home
And that home would be a strong brick house
So strong that not even a pack of wolves can blow it down

Even though Little Red now resides in the forest
She holds strong internal elements….
Kindness and Good-Nature
And that was the issue of living in the forest
It turns pure souls into cold-hearted ones to survive

Little Red went through hell but her head
Was now full of wisdom and strength
Her mind is no longer pure
But no longer ignorant
She is no longer Little Red
Just simply, Red
